How To Get Rid of Rats?

Ugly RatRats are so clever and unpoisonable that it's too difficult to get rid of them once they've come around.

Could anybody suggest a creative solution to the rats problem?

I used half-filled big bucket with a bait to catch rats. I put a piece of cheese floating on a small vessel in the bucket. A rat can jump in but cannot jump out because of water. You can also cover the walls of the bucket with a soap to make them too slicky for a wet rat.
